Problem
Users needed to switch between butcher and restaurant modes, filter offers, and move through cart without friction: while handling cooking preferences before checkout.
Research
- Reviewed competitor food apps for Gulf delivery patterns and dual-catalog navigation.
- Mapped decision moments: mode switch, filter, compare restaurants, confirm cook preference.
- Prioritized glanceable rating, ETA, and distance on result cards.
Process
- Separated Butcher / Restaurant modes with a clear active tab and filter chips.
- Iterated restaurant cards for compare-and-choose speed.
- Designed cart stepper (Menu → Cart → Checkout) with promo and order summary.
- Added a cook-confirmation modal so preparation preference is explicit before payment.
Solution
- Search results with strong visual merchandising and sticky filter language.
- Cart that keeps quantity, pricing, and checkout CTA always legible.
- Modal confirmation that prevents silent assumptions about cooking.

Learnings
- Dual-mode catalogs need sharper tab affordances than generic segment controls.
- Checkout friction drops when preference questions appear before payment, not after.
